The Ruger® Explorer youth air rifle is a spring piston single stroke break barrel air rifle with an all-weather composite black stock. This Ruger Air Rifle's stock is ambidextrous (for both left- and right-handers) and has a thumbhole stock and vented cheekpiece for comfort and ease of use. The Explorer rifle shoots pellets out of its rifled barrel at 495 fps. Accuracy is a breeze with its fiber optic sights. The Explorer also comes with an automatic safety and rubber recoil pad. It is designed as a youth rifle with a shorter overall length (37.125"), lighter frame (4.45 lbs.), and an added anti-slam trigger-barrel safety system.

4 of 5 people found the following review helpful: Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?) This review is from: Ruger Explorer Youth Rifle (Black, Large) (Sports) I may have to come back and edit my review, but for now 2 stars is all I can give. The pellet will not stay in the barrel when closing the break barrel. I have requested an RMA for the product, and the shipper, Zephyr, has not yet provided one. I will be purchasing another Ruger Explorer from a different batch at a local shop once I get the RMA for this one. If the problem is fixed with a different gun, I will come back to edit my review.UPDATE: I replaced the gun with one bought locally, and the pellet drop problem was absolutely a fault with the particular rifle I had received. After replacing the rifle, the pellet sits snug in the barrel and can not be knocked out, much less fall out. The seller Zephyr, however, has not adequately addressed my return yet, the other rifle is still in my closet awaiting an RMA to be issued. I have had to have Amazon get involved, still no resolution. |
