| 8 of 8 people found the following review helpful:  Best solution to mounting a weapons light on a shotgun, By This review is from: Mako Remington 870 Handguards with 3 Rails (Sports) Out of all the methods to mount an accessory on your shotgun this is the best I have found. You simply replace the hand guard with this one from Mako. Now you have a full length accessory rail on the bottom of the hand guard and two short one's on either side. You can mount a weapons light on one of the short rails and operate the light with the hand you would have on the hand guard anyway. I mounted a TRL-1 light on the right side and can easily operate both the momentary on switch or the on/off switch one handed. This eliminates the cumbersome coiled wire setup when using a remote switch. Using this replacement hand guard I now also have two other rails available if I decide to mount anything else. I think this is the best solution to mounting a weapons light on a shotgun available. I have seen other types of replacement hand guards that allow you to mount a regular hand held flashlight only. The rails easily accomodate pretty much whatever you want to put on the thing. Installing is easy, so long as you know how to take down your Rem 870 forend. Most importantly for me, the Mako forend replacement is short enough that it doesn't interfere with my Wilson Combat 6 shot sidesaddle. Other tactical forends, such as the one made by Blackhawk, are just too long to be used with a sidesaddle. The forend fits my hand just right. Buy one.
