The shield itself is just stamped steel with sharp edges. Difficult to fit on a barrel (You have to bend it to fit and force it closed with 2 sets of cheap screws ..use pliers, tap with a mallet..etc.) INSTALLATION WILL SCRATCH YOUR BARREL. The ghostring sites are 'Cheap Plastic'. One bump and the screw will strip from them. I received mine damaged and when I called ATI for a replacement front sight the told me to return it to them at my expense for examination and exchange... The cost for this piece of junk just went way up! It may look good, but it's just cheap painted sheet metal. IMPORTANT! ONCE INSTALLED, IF IT IS REMOVED,IT WILL SCRATCH YOUR BARREL.. AND YOU CANNOT CLEAN YOUR BARREL EXTERIOR WITH IT ON!! I wasted my money. Can't speak for it's accuracy, but I consider the ghost sights more for the bad a** look than for functionality. the peep hole is really too far back to be used accurately anyhow. it gets 3 stars because of the installation hassles. I believe any product that requires installation, should be judged on that as well. (This may be different for other types of pump guns that this product is advertised for) However, I spent 45 minutes of bending, cutting, screwing in, screwing out, and filing to make it fit and keep my gun functioning. Initially its very loose and the screws don't reach across, in addition the tabs sticking down caught on my pump grip getting it stuck and taking some shaking to get it loose... not a good scenario for home defense. I already had the ATI combat stock installed and this realy complements the AR style. It was a little hard to mount without scratching the barrel and the mounting bolts are a little short so I had to bend the end together. |
