While there is a lot of plastic on this gun, the main receiver is cast metal. This gave the gun a little more weight and the gun actually feels pretty nice to hold. Loading a pellet into the 77 can be a challenge -- when you pull back the bolt, the rifle's loading port opens up. Unfortunately, there is NO room to get your fingers into that port. So you have to learn how to roll each pellet just right so that it lands heading in the right direction -- you actually get used to it and it becomes easier. I would not shoot BBs due to eventually wearing out the rifling and accuracy. The included scope is not very good and I left it off becuase the open sights are accurate once adjusted. It generates more than enough velocity to dispatch small game... Cons: requires pumping I like this rifle alot due to it being pump power (save money and can take anywhere) it does get tiring but you get used to it. Right out of the box I read the instructions and things to note: 1. requires minimum 3 pumps, 10 max. 2. I HIGHLY recommend using pellets, using BB's can wear out the rifle barrel over time and it's just not worth the inconsistancy. 3. Re-oil after every 250 shots, fortunately the pellets come in packs of 250 so you know exactly when to re-oil. Almost every other person that has this rifle complained about the scope, on the other hand, I liked it alot. It took 20 minutes out of the box to zero it and I can hit my targets within 3 inches diameter from 50 feet away. Noise is somewhat quiet, won't set off car alarms... Read more |
